Marvelous Measurements
We have been working on measurements and read The Librarian Who Measured the Earth. What information did Eratosthenes need to measure the circumference of the earth? Then you may visit a fun measuring website to practice your measuring skills. Also visit interactive math sites for some online measuring fun! There are many to choose from.
The Math Curse
After reading The Math Curse, create your own math curse then try and solve one other curse in your group. Good luck!!
Here is an example from another 3rd grader:
Dear Gabrielle,
I figured out your math curse.
One morning I woke up at 7:21. It took me 2 minutes to get dressed. It took me 7 minutes to eat breakfast. It took me 9 minutes to get on the bus. It took the bus 10 minutes to pick up the children. It took 2 minutes to get to school. How much time is that in all?
Your answer is 30 minutes in all to do this.
From,
Jordan B.
Now try your own!!! Then when you are done creating your own math curse and responding to someone else's, visit the online math problems link below. See how many you can solve!
